  • MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

    Well that was a bit of a strange end to the term! We just wanted to wish you all the merriest of Christmases and we shall see you in the new year πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ„πŸŽ…

    Here are a few pics of Jays enjoying the snow earlier this week. ⛄️❄️

  • Science – Animals including humans

    In Science this term we will be learning to identify that animals, including humans, need the right types and amount of nutrition, and that they cannot make their own food; they get nutrition from what they eat.

    Children will also identify that humans and some other animals have skeletons and muscles for support, protection and movement.

    Some of the vocabulary we will be looking at are;

  • Geography

    In Geography we will be learning to use maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studies. We will use the eight points of a compass (including the use of Ordnance Survey maps) to build knowledge of the United Kingdom and the wider world.

    The key vocabulary we will be learning are:

  • Stone Age Day!

    Year 3 had great fun with Dan the Caveman. Children looked at some fascinating weapons made from stone and even had a chance to take part in making arrow heads with pieces of sandstone!

  • Guided reading

    We had a fantastic guided reading session today discussing the purpose of illustrations. Our challenge question was based on whether or not we believed that adults books should contain illustrations too or if they were only for children… we had a healthy debate and played a game to discuss our opinions.

  • Active Lifeskills

    On Wednesday, during our lifeskills lesson, we were learning about making healthy choices. At the end of the session, we played a little game outside where we had to run to different areas of the playground based on the decision we had made about the scenarios Mrs M called out. We then had to justify why we had made that choice and what the consequences of that choice would be.

    Key vocab: consequence and choice
